The Edge, or Prologue Mission, is the first mission in Mirror's Edge. Also known as Mission 0, this mission is required to be passed before one could play the Chapters. It is the only mission in the demo, and is also the only mission with two bags (one to demonstrate to secrets of the bags, and another as a normal secret bag role).
The Edge is not really a part of the storyline of the game, but it lets the player know when the Police started to be more aggressive against the Runners.
Faith's task was to go to a meeting point with Celeste to give her a package. Along the way, a City Eye news helicopter spots Faith and alerts the Police. Getting inside a building, the Runner is spotted by officers and they open fire as she attempts to escape. Jumping building by building, Faith soon had to take down a few Blues on the way to Celeste's meeting point. Meeting up with her, Faith gives the bag to Celeste, who alarms the Runner that there was a squad of soldiers behind her. Faith is forced to jump off the skyscraper she was on to evade PK Soldiers with Assault Rifles.
With a City Eye helicopter hovering above the edge, she grabs onto it and safely lands on another building. Mercury demands what Faith did to provoke the Blues to shoot, but she said that she did not do anything. Saying he would try to get answers, he orders Faith back to Base.
