Jacknife is an ex-Runner, and the apparent mastermind of the events of Mirror's Edge, although he admits there are even "big[ger] fish" than himself. Jacknife is the primary antagonist in the game.

Jacknife was once a Runner, a decent one as said by Mercury, sometime when Merc was one too. Having left the life of Running, he became involved in the Pirandello Kruger Security company under the guise of being retired.

Trusting him, Faith meets up with him during the Ropeburn chapter, and he gives her information which leads to her confrontation with Ropeburn. He continues to manipulate Faith, until she eventually figures the truth out during the final moments atop The Shard, which ultimately leads to him falling 200 feet from a helicopter to his death.
